Ethanol

Ethanol

Ethanol, also known as absolute alcohol, is a domestically produced alternative fuel most commonly derived from corn and sugarcane. It is an organic chemical compound that is colourless, volatile, and highly flammable. Absolute ethanol contains a minimum of 99.7% alcohol (v/v).

It is widely used as a chemical solvent and as a fuel source, primarily for blending with petrol. Ethanol production by Karthik Agro Industry supports the petroleum sector by reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuels and promoting cleaner energy alternatives.

Towards carbon negative excellence

We are engaged in the development of alternative energy sources, which enable sustainable growth for us, and for the sugar industry at large. Besides environmental protection, this enables earning of carbon credits, which are a vital trading resource, besides being an enabler of GHG (Green House Gases) reduction. Our aggressive efforts in this direction are helping us become more and more carbon negative year on year.

We have adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards carbon positivity and are committed to progressively reducing our carbon footprint in order to achieve environmental excellence.
